What is Wrong With People?

So, I'm at TKD last night when a girl and her mom walk in. We haven't seen them in months. Of course, I say, "Hey! We haven't seen you in forever! How are you?" The mom looks at me, starts crying and runs out. Everyone looks at me. Stephen says, "that was weird," and I ask, "what did I say?" He shrugs and walks to the back room. I ask everyone else if I should go out and make sure she's okay and everyone says yes (because they weren't going to do it). So, I take a deep breath and head outside.

I tell her I'm sorry if I upset her and asked her if she wanted to talk about what's wrong. That's when she tells me that she recently found out her husband's been cheating on her and asked for a divorce. She'd just met with the lawyer. Ugh. Not this again.

I don't get it. I just don't get it.

Pardon Me While I Vent

There's this lady at the school that just rubs me the wrong way. Seriously. They are a new family this year and she volunteered to be the room mom in Daniel's class. After the first party was a total disaster (instead of asking for help from co-room mom, Melissa, a veteran room mom, she decided to do it all and fell on her face.), you'd think she'd learn that she can't do it all and that there are others that actually want to help. But, if you don't ask, we can't. This is also the same mom that I got into an argument with about making nativity scenes at the winter party ("Jews believe in Jesus so why would they be offended?")

To her credit, she tried to apologize if she offended me and then turned around and basically told me that I was an idiot, so, I've completely written her off.

I seriously think my blood pressure goes through the roof just by hearing her name. What makes me angry the most is that I let her get to me this much. I've never had someone piss me off the way she does.

Today, she stopped me in the school parking lot and asked if I'd gotten the e-mail regarding the Valentine's party. I told her no. She actually called me a liar. I told her that I haven't gotten one e-mail from her all year. Again, I'm a liar. I told her that 3 months ago I told her that I wasn't on her e-mail train and, more than likely, there were others that weren't on it as well. She told me to shut up. It was at this point I walked away.

She followed me.

"What's your e-mail address?" she asked over and over while running after me. I wanted to ask her why she needed it if I was lying but decided to just give her the stupid e-mail address.

So, if you ever find out I've been arrested for assault, you'll know why...it'll be because I finally got fed up and punched her in the face.

Really???

Venting...

Tonight was interesting. Very interesting. An old "friend" from high school informed me, in her Facebook status comments, that she hated me in high school because I was immature. She went on to say that she was also mad at me for stealing her best friend in high school as well. But isn't it great that we're all so much older and we can forget about all that?

Wow. She's held a grudge against me for at least 16 years. Good for her for getting it out after all this time. But what makes me mad is that she felt she had to let me know so publicly. Especially since we (literally) have 79 mutual friends...including the friend that I guess I stole (because, apparently, she had no free will).

For the record, I wasn't very fond of her either. You'd think she'd be more upset that I actually stole her boyfriend rather than her best friend. But there was no mention of that. Huh. Go figure.

How Does This Make Sense?

I swear my neighbors across the street are one fry short of a Happy Meal. Amy is militant about her kids wearing their helmets when riding their bikes. I've even seen her chase Sydney down to put it on. So, why is it okay for her to take her kids to school when they don't have their seat belts on? Even worse, this morning I saw Sydney (she's 6 and in first grade) sitting in the front seat of her huge Expedition with no seat belt with Courtney (she's 5 and in kindergarten) SITTING ON SYDNEY'S LAP IN THE FRONT SEAT!!!! Oh, and obviously she didn't have a seat belt on either. Christy (she's 3) was standing between the two front seats. It's almost 2.5 miles between our houses and the school and you have to drive on a major road. It kills me to see it. You know, if you don't want to wear yours, whatever. You're an adult and can make that decision for yourself. But your kids need you to tell them to buckle up! They'll only be here for a few more weeks and then I won't have to see it anymore, but I know Amy will let it continue. It just makes me so mad!!!
