Busy Weekend

You've already seen the video from the Miley Cyrus concert that Hannah and I went to yesterday. That was just one part of the weekend. Mike left for Chicago on Friday morning so it was just me and the kids until this evening. Fortunately for us, there was no Sunday School this morning so we got to sleep in since none of us were in bed before midnight. This morning, I made a lovely breakfast of bacon, eggs and pumpkin pancakes. Yum. This is the time of year that I really get into the whole pumpkin thing.

Hannah was the star student for the week in her class so she got to bring home Bow Wow for the weekend. It's pretty cool that she'll get to put the concert in Bow Wow's journal (Bow Wow never got further than the parking lot). Bow Wow also got to go to puppy school with us this afternoon, which was super cute. Jen, the trainer, was really into the whole thing and would occasionally call on Hannah to have Bow Wow do something. LOL! We got some really cute pictures this weekend.

Jacob and Daniel enjoy dinner at Five Guys on Friday.

Jacob and Alice. I love this picture.
Daniel has a big dog that looks just like Bow Wow. They insisted on getting a picture together.
Hannah and Bow Wow during puppy school. Hannah's hair looks so long!

Picture Day

How funny is it that on a post called "Picture Day," there are no pictures? LOL! Anyway, today is picture day for the kids. I meant to take a picture of them before they left for school but we were struggling to get out the door this morning. So, you'll have to wait until the pictures come back.

Daniel told me that he wanted to look "like a gentleman" for photos. He also wanted me to brush his hair so that he was "handsome." He cracks me up. So, he got his handsome hair and a blue button down shirt and, indeed, looked like a gentleman. Jacob told him that he "looks like Dad." LOL! I have to admit, he did!

I have been a cleaning machine this week. I even rented a Rug Doctor to steam clean all of the carpets. I am so sore and tired, but the house looks awesome. I really hope that I can keep it up so that the next time I deep clean, it doesn't take me forever.

Now, I'm going to make some of Deb's apple pie filling. I was going to do it yesterday but I walked out of the store without my apples! I did get some this morning when I dropped off the Rug Doctor. I wish I felt comfortable with my canning skills because I'd can some...I'm terrified that I'm going to kill my family with some strange bacteria because I didn't sterilize everything right, so I'm going to freeze it instead.

Rant Post

When we moved into this house, we decided that instead of putting pictures on the walls, we would get photo screens. We searched and searched with no luck. We finally found some through a catalog business called LTD Commodities. We were excited! I placed the order for two photo screens on the 17th. As of today, our account is still "pending." To top it off, no one seems to be able to tell me what the holdup is! I've called twice and talked to a supervisor and everyone has a question mark above their heads. Any info I do have (and that's not any at all!) is because I've initiated the call. The supervisor told me today that it can take 10 business days for an order to ship from their warehouse. Guess what? We're on day 9!!!!! I desperately wish we could find these elsewhere because I would cancel the order and never deal with these people again!!!!

Got My New Camera!!!

Yay!!! We went last night and got my brand new camera! I decided that I wanted the same brand as what I had (Olympus) since I pretty much already knew how to work it. It's a lot smaller (thinner) than the one that I had but takes the same XD card. My old one was 3.2 megapixels and this one's 6. The viewing screen is huge, too. I decided the kids could use my old one and were having fun running around taking pictures of the cat, dog and each other.

Today, we get the Tivo!!! :)

Cabin Fever

We've survived the "storm" (in quotes because it was nothing like they said it would be) and are going stir crazy. I left the house Saturday night to get ice cream but other than that, we've all been cooped up since Friday night. We got lots of sleet and some ice...very little snow. It was snowing earlier today but it has stopped now. The part that's awful is it's 14 degrees outside. Ugh. Not fun. I have done so much baking and cooking this weekend it's not even funny. I've made a challah, soup, rolls, carmel corn, a roast, and Italian beef. I'm looking forward to getting out of the house tomorrow when the boys go back to school.

We finally found our photo screens! Yay!!! I ordered them this morning and it said that they would be here in 10 days. Hooray!!! We got one that holds all 8x10's and one that holds an assortment. Mike didn't want to hang all of the pictures up on the wall and this was our compromise. It has been a nightmare trying to find these things, though. It should not have been this hard!
