It's Election Day! I love Election Day. I may be a nerd, but I still get little butterflies when I hit that "cast ballot" button on the voting machine. I was expecting to wait for a while in line but the whole thing took me only 15 minutes. I guess Mike had to wait for about 45 minutes when he went at 6am. I can't help but think that the early voting helped with the lines.
I was watching the news yesterday and, for the first time ever, I wished I was in Dubuque. Sarah Palin was speaking there at a rally yesterday. Figures. Oh well. I don't really think that seeing Sarah Palin speak for an hour would make up for living in the armpit of Iowa. Ugh...I hated Dubuque. But you all know that.
Anyway, I hope you all get out and vote today...and that you don't have to wait in long lines!

I voted! Ug, it wouldn't have taken long at all if the 106 year old lady who looked up my name still knew her alphabet! Now that wasn't nice, was it? Seriously, though, the 'L's and 'K's are under the same tab. She started in the 'K's and then went backwards. I reminded her my name started with an 'L' when she was in the 'H's. So she starts in the 'K's again and goes backwards again! I'm pretty patient, but not that patient. Besides, the guy in line behind me had SARS or something and insisted on breathing and wheezing on the back of my neck. It was worth it though. I did notice that we have changed from the voting machines that you poke out your choice with the stylus (hanging chads) to a big fat black pen that you color in the oval of your choice. "Progress" is funny, isn't it?
Oh, I forgot to say to Jacob "Good job!" Nice fish!
