Okay Deb...

Where's the bread recipe you promised???? LOL!!! Jacob's been begging for some homemade bread and all I can make is challah. He really loved your bread.

Actually, I got nervous when I was at HyVee yesterday and couldn't find the wheat grinder. They just moved it further inside the organics section (they actually have 3 aisles of natural/organics which I think is pretty cool). I did look at it a little closer and one is a soft wheat and one is a...ummm...red wheat (I think). I'll have to look a little closer next time I'm there. I guess I didn't look as closely as I thought! I'll take a picture of it, too...so you can see it.

Anyway, I need that recipe, woman!!! :)

Sorry! Hey, I think you already have the recipe. Remember the recipes I gave you last Christmas? It is the whole wheat recipe for the Bosch. If you don't have it, I can print it out for you. The one you have probably makes 6 loaves so you would want to adjust accordingly. You might even have one that says something like Crystal's whole wheat bread for the bread machine or some such thing. That one would be a smaller amount.

When you grind your wheat, you want hard wheat. Soft wheat is pastry flour and doesn't have as much protein or gluten to make a good bread. I used hard red wheat. Some people like the hard white. I don't like it as well. You will want a medium grind. Use it as soon as possible after grinding or store it in the fridge or freezer for longer storage because the oils in freshly ground wheat goes rancid fairly quickly. HTH! I will post the recipe soon on my blog.
