Well, Whaddya Know?
Guess who has Lyme Disease? Yep...that'd be me. I've got the big ol' bullseye on my back and went to the walk-in clinic this afternoon. The nurse told me that it was the largest bullseye she'd seen. Nice. Other than a bit of a stiff neck and the rash, I don't have any other symptoms so the doctor said that it's still in a very early stage. He prescribed some antibiotics and told me to have a follow-up next week. According to him, the one round of antibiotics should take care of it. We shall see.

are you sure it isn't just an infection? It sounded like you pulled a standard tick off of you, and they don't carry lyme. Sucks all around, though.
The doctor said that he was 97% certain it was lyme. They have blood tests they can do for it but he said that this early on, it would come up negative. He also said that even if it turned out not to be lyme disease, there's some sort of infection (he also said that it could be any number of other tick diseases. Like rocky mountain spotted fever...nice) going on. It looks really nasty today. I'm not liking this at all.
ACK! That's so gross. Good to be on the antibiotics, eh?
It's nice that you were looking out for it and knew to go get it checked out. I hope your antibiotic works and it looks better soon.
