Okay Dad...Jacob just asked me a question about you. Here's the question:
"Why did PaPa get sent away from his family to a different school when he was a kid?"
He basically wants to know why you went to military school. I didn't know he knew that! LOL! Care to share your story? I think I know why...but I'm not 100%. Wasn't there something about you punching someone at church?
Well, yeah, I clocked Gilbert at
ReplyDeletechurch, but I was already in the
system to go to Brown at the time.
So the folks thought that I needed
to go to a military school and,
for my part, I agreed. Redlands
Jr. High wasn't a really great
school and the opportunity to go
to a military school by the beach
was too much of a good thing to
pass up.
So I went in eighth grade and the
folks and big bro followed me down
to San Diego the next year. Dad
taught at Brown for three years
before the school moved and he was
in the start-up faculty at La
Jolla Country Day school.
'Sides, I like having adventures.
Next time down, I'll show him my
year books.

So, how many places did you all live in California? I'm getting confused. I know you made a couple of trips back to Illinois...can you lay out your move timeline? I'm just curious.
